Hello, I’m Aibhlinn (or Fable) and I am the creator of this zine! I am a graduating senior in college currently getting my BFA in theatre performance, and I love to draw and cosplay. I have a small business on Etsy and recently started doing convention artist alley’s. I am a performer primarily, but also have a focus in costumes, hence where the theme of this zine emerged. I am also one of those OPLA victims, so here I am obsessing over an ongoing 1000+ episode anime…I am new to the zine scene, but so excited to bring this to life with you all!

Gali-Laa (any pronouns)
(Formatting Mod & Author)

Hiya!! I'm Gali, the formatting mod for this lovely zine! I'm super excited to be a part of this project; I've been a part of a couple zines in the past, and I hope to lend what knowledge I have to making this one as successful as possible!
My faves (I can't choose just one) are Thatch, Yamato, and Kanjuro!! and my favorite era... that's a hard one. I'd have to say... the old old stuff. think ancient greece, himations, marble statues!!

K.M. / Kyla ( she/her )
( Secretarial Mod )

Hihi! I’m K.M. / Kyla! I’ll be working as secretary for this zine! I’ll make sure everyone keeps on schedule and things run smoothly!
I have experience with multiple zines before this in many varying roles including: finance, production, ordering, social media, scheduling, shipping, discord moderation, and as contributor!
My favourite One Piece character has to be Luffy! He’s one of my top favourite protags of all time! My favourite fashion would have to be from the Rococo! It is so flamboyant and fun and I love to embody it with my own EGL fashion style!

Franky ( He/Him )
( Writing Mod )

Fave characters are Marco and Ace!
Fave periods are 50s, 80s, 90s and all the gross grimey middleages.

Frequently Asked Questions
—————

What is ATSY about?A Thousand Sunny Years is a fanzine based on the combination of of One Piece and Historical Fashion. We will be creating artworks, writings and cosplay of characters from One Piece sporting garments from ancient decades to modern subcultures. While our topic falls into the realm of historical AU, the focus is the clothing of the period.Where will the profits go?ATSY is a for-profit zine with an exclusive charity item.
This means that any leftover funds after production will be split equally among all zine members. The payout depends heavily on preorders, and could be as small as 5$ each, but the goal is to make enough sales to compensate everyone’s work at least a bit! If funds permit, collaborators can swap for a physical zine bundle OR choose to donate their profits to the charity of choice. We will have an exclusive charity add on of which all proceeds go to a charity voted on by the team.
The administrators of the team don’t have as much experience as other OP Zine-runners. Why should we join or support this zine?Being concerned about a fresh team is totally valid. The fact of the matter is, everyone starts somewhere. Both administrators have participated in several Zines ( and run ) and have witnessed unfortunate business practices that made them want to do a project themselves and do it right. Though we might seem scrappy, we’re excited to be fresh faces in this community and are determined to run this thing as smoothly as possible, with as much transparency as possible, and we are always open to guidance or feedback on our process. The goal is that this is our first zine for the OP community, but certainly not the last! While we may not have formal experience running a zine, both of us have ample outside skills that, combined, serve the zine process. We are looking to grow and learn, and would be so grateful for any participants to join us, regardless of skill level!

Contributor apps are open 12/1-12/15 end of day! ❤️
